Adding Users Step 2


Now create the User's home folder:

  1. Open the appropriate Shortcut to ... Folders (See this page if you need to make shortcuts)
  2. Find the folder in which you need to make the new user's home folder
  3. Right-click in the new window, and choose New -> Folder
  4. Change the name of the folder to the name of your new user
  5. Right-click on the folder and click on Sharing and Security... in the menu
  6. Click on Share as
  7. The folder name will appear in the Share name. Click at the end of the name
  8. Add a dollar sign - $ - to the end of the name (So fredb becomes fredb$, for instance)
  9. Click on Permissions and make sure that Everyone is listed and that Full Control is enabled
  10. Click on the Security tab and make sure that Everyone is listed and that Full Control is enabled
  11. Click Apply and OK

Finally, get the user to automatically connect to the new folder:
