Adding Programs: Stage 2

Introduction Basics First Stage Second Stage More details

Adding the program to the user menu

  1. Log on as Zak. (We need to choose a program to practice with. It doesn't matter whether it's already in use or not, so we are going to use WordPad.)
  2. Double click on the Pupil Start Menu shortcut. This opens a window with some other icons in it. One of them is a folder called Programs. Double click on this to open it.
  3. In the Programs folder you just opened, you will see shortcuts to the various programs the pupils have on their Start -> Programs menu.
  4. Now go to the Start button and click on it. Open the Programs menu.
  5. Go up to Accessories and go to the right. This opens the Accessories menu
  6. Find WordPad on the Accessories menu and click and hold on it with the RIGHT mouse button.
  7. Drag the mouse over to the open Pupils' Program Menu window and release the button
  8. Choose Copy here from the menu that pops up
  9. That's it. When a pupil next logs on, he or she will get the new shortcut in the Programs menu.
