Adding Programs: Introduction
The first thing to do is to go somewhere you won't be disturbed. There will need to be a workstation connected to the network there, of course. When you find one, log on as Zak with the appropriate password. The logon scripts will run, and you will get the Zak desktop. If you don't know what "log on as Zak" means, contact us. This differs from normal Staff or Pupil desktops. You have full control over the system from here. Be very careful. On older systems, using Windows 98 or Me, there is a predefined Zak desktop, controlled by the Server. With XP, this is no longer the case. We find it better to use just one machine for managing the system. Before getting any further, you will need to ensure the following shortcuts are on the desktop:
If they aren't, go here to make them. If they are, carry on to the next page The first allows you to control how the machine you are sitting at uses printers. It's on the desktop to make it easy to find. The other four control how all the computers on the network look and work for your Staff or Pupil users. |
